Monkey Hill is around 8000 square feet and offers guests a unique blend of indoor and outdoor living. The main house contains 6 spacious bedrooms, with 3 queen and 3 king beds, all with en suites. The two bedroom self contained cottage is fitted with two double beds with en suites and a garden area with seating for four with sea views. The dining area, bar and BBQ also overlooks the large, infinity edge swimming pool with several loungers and umbrellas on the deck for your enjoyment.

Rates shown are based on a five bedroom rate but the house can be rented on a 2 to 8 bedroom basis. Each room can accommodate two persons.

We will be on hand to provide any assistance during your stay. The rental price comes standard with a house keeper / laundress. A cook can be provided upon request. Additional concierge services can also be provided on request. This can include help with car rental, restaurant bookings and activities.

The experienced and friendly staff are there to ensure a seamless holiday, be it to shop for groceries, prepare a delicious meal (if a cook is requested), or simply greet you with a smile. Staff members generally work 6 days per week from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and include:

Guests can rent the whole property which includes the 6 bed main house and a 2 bedroom cottage. Guests can also rent on a per room basis and will be given a choice beforehand which rooms they would prefer to book. There will be no access to the additional rooms during this time. Please see pricing details that will cover these different options.

Holetown is less than 5 minutes away by car. From there you can pick up many buses that will take you around the island. We would recommend that a car is rented throughout your stay and help with rentals can be provided upon request. Failing that there are many good local taxi firms.

The neighbourhood

Mullins Beach – this easily accessible, 300-yard-long tranche of soft golden sand is, with good reason, one of the most popular beaches on the west coast.

Gibbes Beach – Gibbes’ 300-yard arc of pristine golden sand, backed by soaring trees, is a strong contender for the west coast’s most beautiful beach. It’s entirely uncommercialised. All you’ll find here are some of the most desirable villas on the island.

Paynes Bay – a strong contender for the best beach on the west coast. Selling points are its fine white sand, the safe swimming and the beach’s length: it’s a 20 minute stroll from end to end, and the northern half, away from the hotels, is usually uncrowded. The icing on the cake is that out in the bay there are turtles to swim with.

On the other side of the island you can also visit Crane Beach – Enterprise Beach – Accra Beach – which are all stunning beaches in Barbados.

There are many wonderful restaurants and cuisine choices in Barbados to choose from. Please refer to the literature that can be found in the villa for a variety of excellent restaurant selections whether it may be for an entertaining evening with friends, for the whole family, or for that special romantic evening. Please note to book these in advance particularly in peak seasons.

Barbados is increasingly being regarded as one of the top islands for a Caribbean golf vacation. The parish of St James alone has five of the best courses on the island. Apes Hill is the newest in the Caribbean and boasts sparkling lakes and lush greens. Situated on 470 acres of gorgeous Barbados landscape, this elevated course provides spectacular coastal views and its natural topography provides a perfect location for a magnificent golfing experience. Sandy Lane offers three challenging and stunning courses: The Old Nine, the Country Club Course and the world-renowned Green Monkey Course designed by Tom Fazio. The beautiful, clear and warm waters of the Caribbean Sea provide the best conditions for a variety of water sports. Barbados is a popular destination for surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing. Other activities include water-skiing, kayaking, jet-skiing and banana boat rides. Guests can also take catamaran trips that allow the immense beauty of the island to be seen from the water. The catamaran trips also provide the unforgettable experience to swim with turtles. There are many Catamarans to choose from but our favourites are: Good times 40′ Catamaran – 16 people snorkelling with turtles, swimming and includes lunch on board and Silver Moon – lunch time and evening time cruises available. Pear Tree House & Apartment is a spacious modern villa on the West Coast of Barbados. Designed by the Italian architect Francesco Draisci it utilises the natural ventilation of the prevailing winds to provide a cool and light interior. It has extensive outside terraces, pool and garden.

There is a 10m x 5 m swimming pool which is fully tiled in blue mosaics. It is the latest salt water pool which uses almost no chlorine to purify the water for a natural feeling swim. It has a South terrace at the end for sun bathing with shady trees at the side.

There are two further terraces, one large fully covered area off the kitchen/diner which leads down to the swiming pool and one shaded space of the living room great for quiet relaxing,reading etc.

The house itself is very spacious-350m- and is designed as an open plan house. It is zoned as a large family/kitchen/dining space which then leads into a sitting/media/entertaining area.

The guest suite (bedroom1) with double bed and bathroom is also on the ground floor with its own front door allowing guests to have some independence.

Upstairs is a large master suite (bedroom2) with walk in wardrobe and en-suite wet room. This bedroom has windows and ventilation on 3 sides giving a feeling of being "in the treetops".

There are several good restaurants nearby- The Cliff, Daphne's, Scarlets etc. Or you can walk to the Fish Market at Payne's Bay and buy today's catch; there is a farmer's market at Holders Hill about 1/2 mile away every Sunday.

The house offers a really relaxed, simple space for a fantastic family holiday and is easily large enough to fit extended families or two families as the living areas are so big. We also offer a very good value price for parties of 7 or under.

It is the perfect place to base a holiday to explore the island, or just to wind down and wander to the beach to swim in the warm Caribbean sea. The local beaches are have white sand and are very safe for children. You will find plenty of restaurants and watersports in walking distance or you can go further along the coast to explore.

The weather is hot all year round and the summer holidays are becoming increasingly popular, as well as the established Winter season.
